About Angela Cohen
A merchandising executive, a Cornell graduate, and a Millburn resident for over fourteen years.
About
I spent twenty years learning how to make people want things.
Before real estate, I was a fashion merchandising executive — most recently a Vice President of Merchandising. My job was to understand what makes a product desirable, how to present it, and how to price it so the right buyer moved quickly.
That is the same work a seller needs, and it is the reason I do this job the way I do. A house gets one first impression. How it is prepared and positioned in its first two weeks on the market usually decides what it sells for — long before anyone negotiates.
How I got here
I grew up on Long Island and went to Cornell University. I spent more than two decades in retail merchandising, which took me through the discipline of understanding a market, reading what buyers actually respond to, and presenting a product honestly and well.
During Covid I made the transition into real estate, and I have not looked back. The skills transferred more directly than I expected. Merchandising is, at its core, the business of helping someone see what they want before they knew they wanted it.
Why Millburn
My family has lived in Millburn for more than fourteen years, and my children have gone through these schools. When I tell you what a street is like at 7:40 on a Tuesday morning, or which side of town feeds which train station, I am not reading it off a spreadsheet.
I know this corridor as a resident, not as a territory. That is a meaningful difference when you are deciding where to spend two million dollars.
How I work
I lead with the comps, even when it is uncomfortable
If the data says your home is worth less than you hoped, I will tell you that first, with the evidence, before we talk about anything else. I would rather have an honest conversation in March than an uncomfortable one in September after your listing has gone stale.
Some people do not want to hear it. Those are usually not the right clients for me, and I would rather find that out early than six weeks into a listing.
I treat pricing as part of the marketing
Price is not a number you arrive at and then work around. It is the single most powerful marketing decision you make. The first two weeks on the market are when a home has the most buyer attention, and we plan for them before the listing goes live.
I prepare the house before I photograph it
Merchandising taught me that presentation is not decoration — it is the difference between a product that sits and a product that sells. That means knowing which improvements earn their cost, which do not, and how to stage a home so its real strengths carry the first impression.
You work with me
I am part of The Judith Daniels Team at Prominent Properties Sotheby's International Realty, and I have the backing of that team and the Sotheby's network behind me. But when you hire me, you get me. Showings, negotiations and your questions come to me.
Away from work
I play pickleball, I work out at F45 and Orangetheory, and I play mahjong. I travel whenever I can and I cook more than I probably should. We have a chiweenie named Lola who has opinions about all of it.
Most of my business comes from people I know and people they know. That keeps me accountable in a way that advertising never could.

Whether you're two years out or listing next month, a conversation costs nothing and usually clarifies more than a search ever will.
